Virtual University of Pakistan has extended the Fall 2026 course selection deadline one final time. The last date to select your courses, including Add, Drop and Replace, is Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The university calls this the final intimation, which means you should not expect another extension.

What Is the Final Date?
The official VU notice, published on October 22, 2026, extends course selection for the Fall 2026 semester till Tuesday, October 27, 2026. It applies to students who have not yet completed their course selection or enrollment for any reason. The notice is the final intimation and opportunity for those students.

What Happens If You Miss October 27?
Students who fail to enroll or select any course within the deadline will be declared Inactive Students. According to the notice, such students may continue their studies only through re-admission as per university rules and policy, upon payment of the prescribed re-admission fee in the next semester.
In plain terms, missing this date does not just delay your semester. It stops it, and restarting it costs a fee and a whole semester of waiting.
Why Late Enrollment Costs You Marks Too
Classes have already commenced from Monday, October 12, 2026. The notice states clearly that students shall be solely responsible for any academic loss resulting from late enrollment, including missed lectures, quizzes, assignments, or other activities.
That is the second cost of waiting. Even if you enroll on October 27, you have already missed two weeks of teaching. Lectures, quizzes and the first assignments for the semester are already moving, and catching up is your job, not the university’s.
What Will Not Be Entertained After the Deadline?
After October 27, 2026, no requests related to course enrollment or semester unfreeze will be entertained. Fee vouchers once issued will also not be adjusted or revised. So do not plan on fixing a wrong selection or a missed enrollment after the date. Fix it while the window is open.
Your Checklist for Today
1. Open your VU student portal and confirm which courses are actually selected, not just which ones you planned to select.
2. If you need to add, drop or replace a course, do it now. Do not leave it for the evening of October 27, when the portal is busiest and any small problem becomes a missed deadline.
3. Take a screenshot of your final selected courses for your own record.
4. First semester students facing any difficulty may contact their respective department through the Contact Us section on the VU website, under Academic Department. The notice gives this route specifically for first semester students.
Why This Matters for Fall 2026 Assignments
Course selection closing on October 27 also explains why Fall 2026 assignments are still not widely public. Until students finalize their courses, the first assignments, quizzes and GDBs stay inside the login based LMS and only reach public sites days later.
